Once an important meter gauge shed in India which had huge number of YDM4's to take care of the Southern Railways. GOC shed has helped in exporting some YDM4 as well. The shed now is left with only around 8 YDM4's to serve the Niligiri Mountain Railways

This loco has worked on the Mysore section for long time. It was sent to work on Quilon line before it was called back to Mysore until the closer of meter gauge here. This loco worked the last train to depart from Mysore on 17th January 2007. There after the loco was pushed to a side while other locos were transferred. The plan to keep the loco in Mysore rail museum did not happen until 2011. The loco is now repainted in Blue color and preserved at Mysore Rail museum.

thank you dear pal for beautiful pictures of YDMs. Have you seen YAMs of the japanese group-TOSHIBA, HITACHI & MITSUBISHI? they were the heroes of MG hauling of mails and expresses from MS to VM. they were maintained by Electric loco shed at TBM.
